Hearts for Health Care Workers! A great arts and craft project, cutting out hearts to post on your front door for health care to show how much we care about them. Let’s do our part in thanking ER doctors, nurses, and healthcare workers for all that they are doing during this pandemic.

Montessori Peace Education is an integral component of the Montessori philosophy and Dearcroft curriculum. The essentials for peace education are inherent in every level of the Montessori program and practiced daily in all of our classrooms. It begins in the Toddler and Casa levels by modeling grace and courtesy and teaching respect and acceptance for all, through to programs such as Montessori Model United Nations at the Junior High level.
Dr. Maria Montessori believed “education was the most powerful and universal way through which to reconstruct society; a way to transition from war to peace”. Dr. Montessori was nominated six times for the Nobel Peace Prize. She designed powerful concepts in the curriculum aimed at fostering an understanding of the commonalities of the human experience in hopes of establishing lasting world peace.
A fundraising event held by Dearcroft staff & students
in support of the work of Ten Thousand Villages
Friday, December 8th 9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
located at Dearcroft Montessori School in the West Wind Juinor High Building
Following a Trip to Ten Thousand Villages Canada (Downtown Oakville store) our Senior Elementary students became inspired to fundraise in support of their efforts in 27 countries globally. Please join us to purchase beautiful pieces from Ten Thousand Villages, creations made by Dearcroft students, bake sale items and fair trade coffee, tea and hot chocolate!
Ten Thousand Villages is a volunteer based non-profit organization that works to empower artisans in developing countries through long term business relationships. All proceeds from the event will go to the gift of Hope funds, which support designated funds for equipment purchases or emergency needs of artisans. The fair trade philosophy helps to empower marginalized populations by supporting their craft and providing a fair, stable income, enabling kids to spend their time in school instead of working.
Please bring your friends and family and help make this event a success!
